Clara Kabel Goff was the sister of Mella Kabel Detenbeck.

Mella was married to Will Detenbeck. He was the brother of Velma’s mother Florence. Mella and Will were the parents of Dot, Grace, Valla, and Doris. Grace was the mother of Lorraine Nigh Hampel.
After the deaths of their husbands, Clara and Mella lived together in the big house next to the Niagara River in Canada. The were fondly known as Auntie and Mum.
