Mildred Rutherford was a good friend of Moses Coleman's grandmothr, Bess McCorkle and was also a  famous writer of Confederate history. She ran the Lucy Cobb Institute in Athens for many years. Coleman's mother, as well as most of her sisters went to the school.
Mildred Rutherford was the neice of Howell Cobb. You can find a lot about her on the internet.
