James Alva Robertson was born June 23 1881, in Rutledge, Georgia, the third of seven children of William Franklin Robertson and Eugenia Frances Davis. He was married in Rutledge on October 13, 1903 to Sallie Myrtle Barker, who was the daughter of Able Armsteed Barker and Margaret Elizabeth McHugh.
