Emma S. Pierce, the daughter of Joshua Pierce and Charles Picot Bolmar, the youngest son of Anthony Bolmar and Adelaide Williams, were married in 1873.

They settled in Topeka, Kansas where he was elected to the Legislature of that state. Their four children were: Charles Pierce (Carl), Adelaide Carey, Lydia Marie, and Emma Josephine Bolmar.
