John Welby McWhorter 1866-1944

Born in Greene County near Bairdstown, Georgia, the son of William Hugh McWhorter and Mary Elizabeth Cheney. He was married in 1890 to Eva Douglas Zuber. Their ten children were: Sara Mae, Julia Pope, William Hugh, Minnie Lourine, Ida, Elizabeth, Eva Margaret, Charles Ligon, Helen Cheney, and Martha McWhorter. After the death of his wife in 1921 he married Maud Bondurant who died in 1925. In 1937 John married Ethel Galbreath. Their child was John Alexander McWhorter.
