Cooper-Conner
House, Montgomery County, Georgia
Built for Richard Cooper c.1779, who served in the Revolutionary
War. Cooper died about 1821 and was buried in Dead River Cemetery.
Built by slave labor, the house is located on Old River Road near Dead
River, a short distance from the fork of the Oconee and Ocmulgee
Rivers. It is considered to be the oldest house in Montgomery County.
