Elizabeth
Jane Dyar Peace 1852-1927
She was the daughter of Elias Sanders Dyar and Sarah Ann Powell Dyar.
"Sanders," as the family called him, was a confederate officer wounded at
the Battle of the Wilderness or the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. Each
took place almost simultaneously and were in proximity of each other. He was
hospitalized at Richmond and died there on June 6, 1863. He is buried at
Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond.
Elizabeth, called "Liza," was born May 30, 1852 at Hart County, Georgia and
died November 3, 1927 at St. Clair County, Alabama.
She was married to Rabe Birce Peace (1850-1926) and they had nine children.
