Detenbeck/Heist Home outside Clarence, NY.

Beloved homestead of the Howard Heist family, 3 miles outside Clarence, NY. This farm was purchased by Helen Detenbeck's husband, George O. Detenbeck, when their daughter Florence was 19. The family lived there until Velma was 12 years old (1923). At that time Howard Heist's asthma prevented him from working the farm anymore, and the family moved into the village of Clarence.

L-R: Florence Detenbeck Heist, holding Velma, Helen Heist holding the hand of Magdalena(Helen) Detenbeck, who was Florence's mother. Velma and Helen are the daughters of Florence and Howard Heist.
