Jane, born January 20, 1809 in Cleughhead, Scotland, was the daughter of Margaret Dalziel and Daniel Gibson

In December 1829 she married David Muir of Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Jane and David had ten children: Jane, Joseph, Daniel Gibson, Frances, Jean, Janet Gibson Jamieson, William, Margaret, James, and John Gibson Muir.

Several of their children immigrated to the US and to Australia in the late 1800s. Jane Gibson Muir died in 1931.
