He was the Mayor of Branford at one time and our oldest male cousin has his Bible in which he kept an extensive family history. His Bible has proved to be invaluable in researching the Palmer Family Tree.

He married Thirza Rogers Hoadley Aug 22, 1833.
Their children were Alvin Kimberly Palmer,  Eugene Hoadley Palmer,  Mary Eugenia Palmer,  Elizabeth Palmer,  Mary Abigail Palmer,  Jane Amanda Palmer,  Henry Ammi Palmer,  Henry Pitman Palmer.  Only three of their children survived to adulthood.
