William Hugh McWhorter, Jr. 1915-1949
Son of William Hugh McWhorter and Edina Lee Fenwick, he was married in 1947 to Marisa Rabunal de Vecino.
He served in the Army Air Corps and participated in preparing for D-Day of World War II for which he received the Purple Heart and Silver Star for bravery.
After the war he was selected for the Air Command and Staff School of the U.S. Air Force and was killed on a training flight to Tacoma, Washington, in an accident caused by bad weather.
