Captain, 8th Infantry Company D, Vermont Volunteers.

Cyrus, the Union soldier, was the great grandfather of Barbara Foss, He was born in Vermont. He married Laura Jackson Jenks. They moved to New Hampshire for awhile, but eventually ended up in Wisconsin - at least Laura did. It is not known where or when he died.

Their daughter, Minnie Miranda Leach, was the grandmother of Barbara Foss.
