This cabin, built by Chesley McLemore in 1864, is located on the old Savannah Road, south of Vidalia, Georgia (Highway 130). It is listed on the National Register for Historic Places.

Restored by his granddaughters, Inez Sharpe McGregor and Lois Sharpe Mathews, is much like it was when built.

The enclosed area on right side of the porch is the "Parson's Chamber," Anyone traveling in the area after dark was welcome to stop in. The owners never knew when they had a breakfast guest. This was normal hospitality. No money exchanged. Many homes along "public" roads had Parson's Chambers.
