Louise Wilhelmine Amanda Katzung 1862-1950

Known as "Lizzie" Katzung, she was born 19 May 1862 in Newport, Columbia County, Wisconsin. Her parents were Georg Ludwig Eduard (Edward) Katzung and Anna Dorothea Lottine Eberlein. Edward Katzung was born in Schmalkalden, Germany and Anna Eberlein was born in Herrenbreitungen, Germany. Ed and Anna were married in 1861 in Columbia County, Wisconsin. Ed and Anna had 9 children. Louise Katzung was their oldest child, and Carl "Dick" Katzung (my great grandfather) was the youngest child of Ed and Anna Katzung.

Funeral services for Mrs. C. T. Young, Fariault county resident since 1863, were held at the Cook chapel Monday Oct. 9, the Rev. Joseph M. Doms, pastor of the Presbyterian church officiating.
Mrs. Young died Oct. 6, 1950 at Community Memorial hospital, following an illness of nearly two weeks.
Born Louise Katzung, May 19, 1862, at Newport, Wis., she came to this county a year later with her parents. During 1896 she married Charles T. Young at Blue Earth.
Mrs. Young was a member of the Esther Circle of the Women's Council of the First Presbyterian church and the local chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are her adopted son, Kenneth Young of Blue Earth, and three brothers, Edwin of Blue Earth, George of Minneapolis, and Carl of Mankato.
Interment was at Riverside cememtery, Blue Earth.

Omitted in the listing of survivors of Mrs. C. T. Young, who died here Oct. 6, was a sister, Mrs. Anna Cummings of Blue Earth.

Her adopted son, Kenneth, was her husband's nephew. Louise and Charles also had a son of their own, Lloyd Eugene Young born 1898 and died 1899.
