August was married December 31, 1901 at St. Paul, Minnesota to Pansy Roberts who was the daughter of Franklin Roberts and Effie A. Lewis.

Pansy was born February 18, 1881 Lake City, Minnesota and died December 30, 1973 in St. Paul, Minnesota at age 92.
