Born at Vernon, Oneida County, NY the son of Richard Padgham Jr. and Mary Beasley of Bethersden, Kent County, England.

Henry was married in 1887 at Hastings, Nebraska to Flora E. Holt who was the daughter of Charles Holt and Anna Maria French.

Their three children were: Doris, Henry F. Jr., and Florene Padgham.
