Augusta was born February 24, 1898 in Worth County, Georgia, the daughter of William R. and Julia Sumner Fletcher.

She met Henry F. Padgham, Jr., her future husband in Medford in 1927and they were married August 10, 1930 in Portland, Oregon. Their children were: Henry F. III, William G., Richard E., and Ann Padgham.

According to her obituary Augusta was long active in public health and a founding member of Planned Parenthood of JacksonCounty. She died September 2, 1985 at 87 years of age in Medford, Oregon.
