Last licensed River boat Pilot-Captain on the Ocmulgee River System.

According to his obituary "Mr. McDonald came to Brunswick in 1927 from Telfair County [Georgia]. He started in marine construction in 1946 and was self employed. He was the last licensed steamboat captain on the Altamaha River and ran from Brunswick to Macon."
